Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Production Engineer is an essential position that directly impacts product integrity, performance, revenue, delivery and turn time. The Manufacturing Production Engineer will support the repair of various gas turbine components and will have responsibility for a special process such as Heat Treatment, Brazing, Blending, Grit Blasting, or Plasma Spray.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for production, monitor yield and rework, disposition non-conforming parts, and perform Root Cause / Cause Mapping and Corrective Action to prevent future issues
  • Execute a plan to successfully achieve production readiness for all process equipment within the process cell.
  • Contribute and lead efforts to design, manufacture, and implement process tooling, fixtures, and gauging required to support process cell.
  • Support the training of all employees on the operation, maintenance, and control of the equipment.
  • Support maintenance in the development and implementation of a robust preventative maintenance program for each piece of process equipment.
  • Create process documentation including, but not limited to, equipment operation instructions, product work instructions, training programs, calibration instructions, process specification, and quality data records.

Production support responsibilities:

  • Participate in Kaizen and Green Belt events.
  • Implement Six Sigma and DMAIC skills to problem solve and improve processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a science-based discipline (e.g., Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics) is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience in a lean manufacturing environment, preferably within aerospace manufacturing. Gas turbine experience is highly desirable.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a manufacturing product engineer with responsibility for overall process planning.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with production personnel.
  • Solid understanding of aerospace gas turbine part repair processes is required.
  • Experience in tool design is preferred.
