Job Description

Job Summary

GAT is seeking dynamic individuals to join its team of aviation professionals. Classification: Full Time, Non-Exempt . The Ramp Supervisor will lead, direct, and coordinate the efforts of ground, line and cabin service personnel and the timely delivery of all services for airlines as contracted. The Ramp Supervisor will take accountability for safety, operation standards, policy implementation, client relations, and financial performance for the ramp operations.

Job Responsibilities


  • Establish shift assignments for both full?time and part?time employees.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient operation of all airline ground support equipment.
  • Report mechanical or functional discrepancies on ground support equipment.
  • Coordinate with carriers to ensure cargo and baggage service needs are met and on?time schedules are achieved.
  • Ensure equipment is safe, operational, and available in the ramp area and bag room for upcoming flights.
  • Conferring with other supervisors and managers to coordinate activities with other departments.
  • Determine manpower requirements and conduct disciplinary procedures fairly, timely, and consistently.
  • Comply with attendance/tardiness standards.
  • Perform well under pressure and within fixed time constraints.
  • Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance instructions, hazardous material labels, loading manifests, and baggage routing tags.
  • Follow and comply with all federal, state, municipal, airport authority, and carrier rules and regulations.
  • Brief crews before flights on positions and flight operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements
  • Must possess at least 6 months of computer experience and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Navigate electronic devices (computers, fax machines, printers, timeclock, etc.).
  • Proven track record in supervising a business unit.
  • Experience in operational planning and resource allocation.
  • Working knowledge of GSE maintenance issues.
  • Understanding of commercial aviation issues.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum age 18 years.
  • Process information in a timely manner.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Fluent in spoken, read, and written English.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Previous ramp or airline experience.
  • Successfully complete all training requirements and maintain certifications throughout employment.
  • Clear an FBI fingerprint background check.


Physical Requirements
  • Physically fit to perform duties, including standing, lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling for extended periods.
  • Capable of repetitively lifting up to 70 pounds in confined spaces.
  • Willing to work outside in all weather conditions with exposure to loud noises.


Specific Working Hours
  • Flexible to work variable shifts, weekends, and holiday?specific shifts as determined.
  • Ready to work extended hours on short notice during non?routine operations.
