The role supports cultural resource projects throughout the Mid‑Atlantic, greater US, and international work, as available. Responsibilities Serves as a Field Director, directing field crews and scheduling work. Assists in scoping projects, utilizing GIS, site records, and data sources. Maintains SHPO documentation and ensures regulatory compliance for federal, state, municipal, and commercial clients. Supports all phases of archaeological investigation and prepares compliance reports. Collects information through observation, interviews, and document review. Writes archaeological reports and assists PI with project alternatives, NRHP evaluations, and historic property effects. Collaborates with technical field, lab, office staff, managers, and admin staff to meet AECOM quality standards. Performs manual labor, including excavation, moving wheelbarrows, bending, kneeling, standing, and lifting 50 lbs. Minimum Qualifications Completion of a university‑based archaeological field school. BA/BS plus at least 2 years of experience or equivalent education. Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience (e.g., Crew Chief). GIS experience. Preferred Qualifications Meets the Secretary of the Interior Professional Qualification Standards for Archaeology. MA, MS, or PhD in Archaeology, Anthropology or related field. Experience with GIS, GPS, Total Station, Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop, statistical analysis (SAS or SPSS). Demonstrated experience writing technical reports and papers. Additional Information Relocation not available. Work sponsorship not available. Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. Expected range: $57,000.00 - $70,000.00.
