Job Description
Position Summary The Barback's role is to organize, stock and maintain the general cleanliness of the bar area ensuring that staff can work safely and efficiently. This includes stocking and re-stocking all bar inventories and supplies, as well as assisting bartenders and cocktail servers (when applicable) in all aspects of guest service.
Duties and Responsibilities - Possesses in-depth knowledge of all food and beverage menus and the company.
- Properly sets-up the bar stations, performs side-work and other opening/closing procedures as directed by management.
- Maintain general cleanliness of bar and bar area, and the entire venue.
- Maintains inventory of bar supplies and alerts managers when supplies are low.
- Ensures the delivery of all food and beverage to the guests.
- Accurately completes all end-of-shift financial procedures.
- Portrays a positive and professional attitude and appearance.
- Understands the policies and procedures of the organization and adheres to the company standards outlined in the company handbook.
- Possesses conversational knowledge of food and beverage items served at the establishment.
- Participates in training sessions, departmental meetings, or pre-shift meetings.
- Ensures the well-being of all guests and co-workers by following the Company Safety Standards and maintaining compliance with the Department of Health and OSHAA.
Our Ideal Candidate - 2+ years' previous fine dining experience
- Previous experience working in a large fast paced restaurant setting.
- Demonstrates effective oral & written communication, interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
- Possesses excellent organizational skills, problem-solving skills and time management ability.
- Actively contributes as a team player by supporting co-workers throughout each workday.
- Has a solid understanding of the job duties assigned to them and outlined in their job description.
- Alerts management of all safety concerns immediately.
Certifications Required - Certification relating to Alcohol Awareness (TIPS/SIPS for example)
- Food Handling Safety certification
Physical Demands and Work Environment - Must be able to stand, walk, lift and bend for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Role may include job duties or tasks requiring repetitive motion.
- Role may include exposure to hot kitchen elements or cleaning materials.
- Must be able to work and remain focused in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule with varying shifts days, evenings, weekends and holidays
