The Hotel Northampton, one of the areas most historic and boutique hotels, are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Bartender to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for mixology, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for crafting beverages, engaging with customers, and contributing to a positive and enjoyable atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and customer preferences.
- Mix, garnish, and serve drinks in a prompt and efficient manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, ensuring all equipment and supplies are well-stocked.
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting with guests, taking orders, and responding to inquiries with a friendly demeanor.
- Conduct responsible alcohol service by monitoring customer behavior and adhering to applicable laws and regulations.
- Upsell and suggest drink specials, food pairings, and promotions to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure seamless service and efficiency.
- Handle cash and credit transactions accurately, maintaining the cash register and processing payments.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down the bar before and after service, including cleaning glassware and utensils.
- Stay updated on drink trends, mixology techniques, and menu changes to continually enhance skills and product knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Previous bartending experience is preferred; knowledge of mixology and drink preparation is essential.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to connect with guests and handle complaints professionally.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment with a strong focus on teamwork.
- Knowledge of local and state liquor laws and regulations.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
