Job Description

At Tech Marine Systems, we are committed to delivering bespoke outfitting solutions to the marine industry. We are currently seeking a skilled CAD Drafter to join our growing team. In this role, you will work closely with our engineering and project management teams. You will use CAD software to create detailed drawings, schematics, and technical documentation to support the execution of complex marine outfitting projects including ADA remediation.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to translate design concepts and specifications into detailed CAD drawings and technical documentation
• Create drawings of mechanical components and systems using industry-standard CAD software (AutoCAD)
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations in all CAD drawings and documentation
• Generate drawings for fabrication, installation, and assembly, including plans, elevations, sections, and details
• Revise and update CAD drawings as required to incorporate design changes, feedback from stakeholders, or new project requirements
• Assist in the preparation of technical submittals, shop drawings, and as-built documentation for client review and approval
• Maintain organized project files and documentation, ensuring version control and traceability of design changes

Qualifications:

• Minimum of two years of experience in CAD drafting, preferably in the marine or construction industry
• Proficiency in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD, with a strong understanding of drafting standards and practices
• Familiarity with marine outfitting systems and components is desirable but not required
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to produce high-quality drawings and documentation
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
