Comcast's Xfinity Growth, Innovation, and Experience (XGIE) team plays a pivotal role in driving business growth and enhancing the customer journey across all of Xfinity's core services including broadband, entertainment, mobile, voice, and home. The team is responsible for shaping brand and product strategies, ensuring that offerings align with evolving customer needs and market dynamics. XGIE also leads the charge in crafting seamless, end-to-end experiences by integrating digital channels and services to create a unified and engaging journey for customers. Beyond strategy and experience, XGIE plays a critical role in execution. The team manages how Xfinity brings its products to market through sales, marketing, and digital platform optimization. The team leverages data intelligence to inform decisions and uncover new growth opportunities, while also overseeing program delivery to ensure initiatives are executed efficiently and effectively.

Within XGIE, the Sports Entertainment team leads the strategy and experience for how customers discover and engage with live and on-demand sports content, including premier leagues and events like the NBA, the Olympics, and the Super Bowl. The team plays a critical role in shaping the product vision for Xfinity's entertainment platforms, ensuring they deliver seamless, innovative, and highly engaging viewing experiences that evolve with consumer expectations. The Sports Entertainment team collaborates closely with broadcast and streaming partners such as NBC, ESPN, and Amazon Prime, as well as with technology leaders like Dolby, to bring cutting-edge features to life including Enhanced 4K with Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and low-latency streaming. In partnership with TPX, this team drives the development of interactive capabilities like multiview, aggregated sports hubs, and real-time betting integrations to deepen fan engagement.

Positioned at the center of a highly cross-functional ecosystem spanning PR, marketing, brand, Growth and Base Strategy, legal, and content acquisition the team ensures strategic alignment, operational readiness, and a unified go-to-market approach for Xfinity's most high-profile sports moments.

Love sports? Obsessed with how fans experience the biggest moments in entertainment? The Sports Entertainment team at Comcast is where strategy meets adrenaline. We're the team behind how millions of Xfinity customers watch the March Madness, the MLB season, The Players Championship, and more and we're just getting started. From product innovation to go-to-market execution, we're shaping the future of sports viewing. You'll help bring major sports events to life across Xfinity platforms, support cross-functional campaigns, and contribute to the strategy behind the product features fans love. If you're passionate about sports, media, and tech and ready to make an impact this is your shot.

What You'll Do:

As a Sports Entertainment Co-op, you'll help bring major sports events to life on Xfinity platforms. You'll support planning, conduct competitive research, track timelines, and collaborate with teams across marketing, PR, legal, and content. You'll also contribute to leadership presentations and brainstorm new fan engagement ideas that could shape future experiences.

What are some interesting problems the student will work on?

  • Help analyze and improve how users discover live sports across Xfinity platforms. This could involve researching search behavior, testing new navigation flows, or benchmarking against competitors like YouTube TV or Amazon Prime.
  • Dive into usage data for features like multiview, sports hubs, or real-time stats overlays. Help identify what's working, what's not, and where there's opportunity to innovate.
  • Join brainstorms and competitive research to pitch new ideas from interactive features to fan engagement tools that could shape the future of sports on Xfinity.
  • Help manage cross-functional readiness for major events, ensuring all teams (marketing, legal, content, etc.) are aligned and hitting deadlines.

Where can this student make an impact?

You can make a real impact by contributing to the planning and execution of events including the Masters and NFL and college football season and help to ensure that millions of fans have a seamless, engaging experience across Xfinity platforms. Your work can directly influence how content is surfaced, promoted, and consumed. Through competitive research and usage analysis, you can uncover insights that inform product strategy like which features fans love most or where there are gaps in the experience. These insights can shape future product roadmaps. And with your fresh perspective and curiosity, you can bring new ideas to the table whether it's a feature concept, a fan engagement tactic, or a new way to promote content. Your voice matters.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning and execution of major sports events and sports seasons (MLB All Star in 4K, NHL, NBA) across Xfinity platforms.
  • Conduct competitive research and analyze industry trends to inform product and experience strategy.
  • Assist in tracking project timelines, deliverables, and campaign readiness across cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including marketing, PR, legal, content acquisition, and product teams.
  • Help prepare presentations, reports, and insights for leadership and partner teams.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate ideas for new features and fan engagement opportunities.
  • Monitor and document performance of sports-related features and campaigns.
  • Contribute to the coordination of go to market efforts for high profile sports moments.
  • Support day to day team operations, including meeting prep, note taking and follow ups.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong interest in sports, media, and entertainment
  • Creative thinker with a passion for improving user experiences
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and draw insights
  • Preferred Majors: Sports Management, Marketing, Communications, Entertainment & Arts Management, Business Administration, Product Design or User Experience, Business Analytics

Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree from Drexel University, with a cooperative learning track.
  • Available to work 40 hours per week for 6 months starting March 30, 2026, through September 18, 2026.
  • Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs.
  • Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting.
