The Director of Banquets plays a key role in delivering exceptional experiences that reflect the resort’s commitment to excellence. Job Summary The Director of Banquets is responsible for the leadership, strategic planning, and execution of all banquet and event operations as well as in room dining at Black Desert Resort. This position oversees the banquet management team and service staff to ensure that events are delivered with precision, efficiency, and impeccable guest service. The role requires coordination across multiple departments, including culinary, events, sales, and stewarding, to ensure each function exceeds guest expectations and maintains luxury brand standards. Job Specifications Onsite: Black Desert Resort Shift & Schedule Availability: Year-Round / Full-Time Pay Range: $100,000 - $110,000/year plus incentive bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors. Responsibilities Oversee daily operations of all banquet events including weddings, conferences, golf tournaments, and VIP functions. Oversees daily operations of In room dining. Lead and manage banquet and in room dining leadership team and hourly banquet /in room dining staff, including hiring, scheduling, training, and performance management. Ensure timely setup, execution, and breakdown of all events in accordance with BEOs and client expectations. Partner with the Sales, Events, and Culinary teams to ensure alignment and flawless event coordination. Maintain consistent communication with clients, providing high-touch service and on-site management during functions. Monitor quality control and service standards across all banquet functions. Maintain inventory and order banquet equipment, uniforms, linen, and supplies as needed. Enforce compliance with safety, sanitation, and legal regulations Develop and manage the banquet department budget including labor, inventory, and equipment maintenance. Analyze event feedback and operational metrics to implement continuous improvement strategies. Lead pre-event and post-event meetings with key stakeholders and vendors. Qualifications 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience in luxury banquet or catering operations. Proven success managing multiple, simultaneous high-end events. Strong leadership and team-building skills. Excellent guest service, organizational, and communication abilities. Financial acumen in budgeting, labor forecasting, and cost control. Knowledge of POS, BEO management, and banquet software (Delphi, Opera, etc.). Flexibility to work long hours, weekends, and holidays based on event needs. TIPS and ServSafe certified preferred.
