Little Pearls Pediatric Dentistry, a vibrant and innovative pediatric dental practice, is excited to announce an opening for an Experienced Pediatric Dental Assistant. The position is Part-Time and requires physical presence at our state-of-the-art facility as it is not a remote job.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the pediatric dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Set up and breakdown operatory post-treatment.
• Take dental radiographs (x-rays) using both digital and phosphor plate (ScanX) radiographs with handheld units.
• Manage dental supply inventory and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the practice.
• Maintain patient records and schedule appointments while ensuring patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Provide patients with instructions for oral care following all dental treatment procedures.
• Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling).
• Communicate with patients and suppliers (scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, billing, and ordering supplies).
• Help in the prevention and management of dental medical emergencies.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a pediatric dental assistant.
• Certification or associate degree in an accredited dental assisting program.
• High proficiency in using both digital and phosphor plate (ScanX) radiographs with handheld units.
• Excellent understanding of dental hygiene procedures.
• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods.
• Understanding of health & safety regulations.
• Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is considered a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good computer skills (experience with dental software, preferably Open Dental).
• Legal ability to work in the country.
• Compassionate and able to handle young patients in a gentle and effective manner.
• Preference given to candidates with pediatric dental experience.
