Dekorwood Homes Inc. is a Toronto-based finish carpentry company delivering  high-end trim, millwork, and restoration services . We specialize in heritage homes, new builds, and custom projects where precision and craftsmanship are non-negotiable. With a strong pipeline of residential and restoration projects, we are looking for a skilled Finish Carpenter to join our growing team full-time.

Position Overview

We are seeking a  full-time Finish Carpenter with proven expertise in  interior trim, exterior trim, and restoration work . This role requires hands-on installation, problem-solving, and pride in delivering exceptional detail on every project. The right candidate will be comfortable working on both  modern custom homes and  heritage restorations , often independently or within small teams.

Key Responsibilities

Interior Trim Carpentry

• Install and adjust  interior doors (pre-hung, slab, pocket, and double).
• Install  baseboards, casings, and shoe molding with clean joints and precise reveals.
• Execute  crown molding, coffered ceilings, and ceiling trim systems .
• Construct and install  fireplace surrounds, mantels, wall panel systems, and built-ins .
• Install  wainscoting, chair rails, decorative trims, and stair finish details .
• Install  window trim, jamb extensions, sills, and aprons .

Exterior & Restoration Carpentry

• Install  soffit, fascia, porch beams, siding details, and exterior trims .
• Perform  heritage restoration carpentry on windows, moldings, and panels.
• Repair or replicate  historic millwork profiles and architectural features .
• Apply  restoration techniques such as rot repair, epoxy fillers, and detail reproduction.

General Carpentry & Coordination

• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and site specifications.
• Accurately measure, cut, and install a variety of wood and composite products.
• Work independently or as part of a crew to complete scopes on schedule.
• Collaborate with Dekorwood’s project managers for quality assurance.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of finish carpentry experience (residential required).
• Strong expertise in  interior trim, doors, and custom millwork installations .
• Experience in  exterior trim and restoration carpentry (heritage homes a strong asset).
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and installation methods.
• Ability to read plans, take accurate measurements, and work to tight tolerances.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Strong attention to detail, pride in craftsmanship, and commitment to deadlines.

Good-to-Haves (Assets)

• Experience replicating  historic profiles and custom trim details.
• Ability to fabricate or modify trim/millwork on-site.
• Experience mentoring apprentices or coordinating small crews.
• Portfolio or photos of past interior/exterior trim projects.
