Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the Licensed Customs Broker of Record for the new brokerage division.
• Lead the startup process:
• Finalize and maintain company customs brokerage license.
• Build and oversee a new in-house brokerage team.
• Develop and document compliance processes and procedures.
• Ensure full compliance with U.S. Customs regulations (CBP, FDA, USDA, etc.).
• Oversee entry filing, clearance, and HTS classification.
• Partner closely with the freight forwarding division and external partners during transition.
• Targeting a December 2025 Start date
• Benefits: Medical insurance (no 401k currently)
• Reports to: Site leadership (NJ office)
• Team: Currently 3 people in the NJ office will be responsible for helping build the brokerage division

Qualifications:

• Holds an active U.S. Customs Broker License (LCB) — individual or corporate.
• Hands-on experience with customs brokerage, import clearance, and regulatory filings.
• Strong working knowledge of HTS classification, tariff assessment, and entry processes.
• Entrepreneurial mindset — comfortable leading from scratch, establishing procedures, and hiring.
• Preferably from a freight forwarding, brokerage, or logistics background.
• Based in or willing to relocate to New Jersey.
