Responsibilities Responsible for profitable results via risk selection, maintaining high premium retention ratios and applying appropriate rating and coverage terms Account manager for assigned book of business Handle new and renewal submissions and endorsement requests from agents/ producers Document underwriting files to support analysis, coverage terms and pricing Operate according to underwriting authority as delegated by manager Provide clear instruction and guidance to underwriting support staff and operations staff Desire to develop sales and marketing skills and strategies in order to meet financial goals Follow established pricing, underwriting and documentation protocol as set forth by underwriting management Mentor & coach underwriting support staff Qualifications 3+ years of experience working in a commercial underwriting or commercial underwriting support position Familiarity with commercial lines underwriting standards and practices along with rating/pricing methods Ability to learn interpreting coverage forms Ability and desire to sell and/or market insurance products & services Desire to strengthen negotiation skills Strong customer service skills Strong oral and written communication skills Strong analytical and decision-making skills Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment Strong interpersonal skills Presentation skills Excellent PC skills and a working knowledge of Windows environment A valid driver’s license and carry vehicle insurance coverage Education Four-year college degree or equivalent experience Additional Company Details The Company is an equal employment opportunity employer.
