Mobile App Developer iOS/Android

(supporting a utility client based in New Orleans, LA)

About the Role

Leidos is seeking a seasoned Mobile App Developer with deep expertise in iOS development and working knowledge of Android platforms . This role supports an investor-owned utility client and offers a dynamic, fully remote environment ideal for professionals seeking technical challenges and meaningful impact.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain advanced iOS applications using Swift , Objective-C , Xcode , and Python
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, and backend engineers to define and deliver new features
• Optimize application performance, responsiveness, and reliability
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs and bottlenecks across mobile platforms
• Stay current with emerging mobile technologies and industry trends
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment cycles
• Support shared codebases and assist with native Android development as needed

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 8+ years of professional mobile app development experience
• Proficiency in Swift , Objective-C , Xcode , and Python
• Firm grasp of mobile architecture, design patterns (MVC, MVVM), and RESTful APIs
• Familiarity with third-party libraries, APIs, and version control tools (e.g., Git)
• Experience publishing apps to the App Store and Google Play Store
• Solid understanding of mobile security best practices
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities

Preferred Skills

• Android development experience
• Familiarity with AWS and cloud-based mobile services
• Experience with CI/CD tools for mobile (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
• Exposure to cross-platform frameworks (e.g., React Native, Flutter)
• AI chatbot development experience
• Knowledge of mobile analytics tools
