About Oakmont Gardens
Oakmont Gardens is a warm, boutique assisted living home (Type A) serving up to 6 residents in a beautiful residential setting. We deliver dignified, personalized care with a focus on safety, comfort, and meaningful daily routines.
What You’ll Do
Provide hands-on support with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, continence care, and safe transfers/ambulation.
Prepare/serve simple, nutritious meals and snacks; assist with hydration and intake tracking.
Assist residents with self-administration of medications per Texas rules and facility policy (training provided); document accurately.
Engage residents in conversation, activities, and gentle exercise; accompany on walks or appointments as assigned.
Maintain a clean, safe home (light housekeeping, laundry, bed making, common-area tidiness).
Observe and document changes in condition; report promptly to the manager.
Follow infection control, standard precautions, and emergency procedures (fire, severe weather, evacuation).
Complete required shift notes, vitals, and incident reports with accuracy.
Participate in shift handoffs and team huddles; uphold resident rights, privacy, and dignity at all times.
Qualifications
Required:
18+ years old; authorized to work in the U.S.
Compassionate bedside manner and strong reliability.
Able to read, write, and chart in English; basic smartphone/tablet skills.
Pass background checks required by Texas HHSC (EMR/NAR checks & criminal history).
Current CPR/First Aid (or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire).
Preferred:
6+ months caregiving experience (assisted living, home care, memory care, or hospital).
Dementia care experience or training.
Texas food handler certificate (or willing to obtain within 60 days).
Valid driver’s license and clean record (for errands/appointments as assigned).
Physical & Schedule Requirements
Stand/walk most of shift; bend, reach, and perform repeated tasks.
Safely lift, pivot, or transfer up to 50 lbs with proper technique/equipment.
Shifts available: 7a–3p, 3p–11p, 11p–7a (weekdays/weekends/holidays).
Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential.
