Job Description

Location: Knoxville, TN or Atlanta, GA | Relocation assistance available

Are you ready to take a leading role in shaping something new? This is your chance to step into a senior position at the ground floor of a new studio backed by the strength and stability of an established design firm. We’re looking for a licensed Landscape Architect who’s eager to be part of building a practice—from defining design direction to helping grow and lead a team. If you’re energized by the opportunity to influence culture, process, and project impact from day one, we’d love to connect.

About the Role

As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for the design, quality, timeliness, and billing of landscape architecture projects. You'll work closely with a team of talented designers and oversee multiple aspects of project development while mentoring junior staff and ensuring that all work aligns with high industry standards and sustainable practices.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and manage a team of landscape architecture staff, supporting their professional growth and ensuring project excellence
  • Create a collaborative, communicative environment with strong morale and a shared vision
  • Provide feedback, mentorship, and regular performance evaluations
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and implement best practices when applicable

Project Oversight

  • Direct and manage all phases of landscape architecture projects, from concept through construction
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, fostering strong and lasting relationships
  • Coordinate with sub-consultants, vendors, and other project stakeholders
  • Maintain active professional licensure in applicable states
  • Champion innovative and sustainable design solutions

Supervisory Duties

  • Oversee the work of Associates and Landscape Designers
  • Report directly to firm leadership and contribute to strategic planning and team development

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited institution
  • Active licensure as a Landscape Architect
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership or senior project management role
  • Proven success in managing projects, people, and client relationships
  • Strong expertise in site planning, planting design, layout, and construction detailing
  • Proficiency in sustainable site design principles and applications
  • Excellent communication and time management skills

Technical Proficiency

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Cloud, Lumion (or similar tools)
  • Comfortable with standard office and communication equipment

Why Join Us?

You’ll be joining a team that values innovation, authenticity, and collaboration—and you’ll be doing it at a critical time when your voice will help shape the future. Whether you’re based in Knoxville or Atlanta, or considering relocation (which we support), this is a high-impact role with room to grow.
