About the Role

The Sign Language Interpreter will play a crucial role in facilitating communication between hearing and deaf individuals. This position requires a skilled interpreter who can accurately convey messages in both American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpretation services in various settings, including meetings, conferences, and educational environments.
• Ensure clear and accurate communication between parties.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
• Stay updated on best practices and advancements in sign language interpretation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Certification from a recognized sign language interpreting organization.

Required Skills

• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in high-pressure situations.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in educational or medical interpreting.
• Knowledge of deaf culture and community.

Pay range and compensation package

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $60-$65 an hour.
