Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele float pool position requiring MA RN license, night shift availability, and strong telemetry skills.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the float pool covering Med/Surg Telemetry units within a hospital setting
• Requires flexibility to float to like units and overflow areas as needed
• 12-hour night shifts with weekend and holiday coverage expected
• Patient population includes general medical-surgical and telemetry cases
• ECG/telemetry equipment proficiency is needed
• Primary duties include providing care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients, floating as needed, and responding to unit overflow
• Charge Nurse experience is preferred but not required
• Orientation provided biweekly
• Testing for dysrhythmia and medication competency is conducted via remote meeting prior to start
• All requests for time off must be presented during the application process
• Team-focused environment with expectation to adapt to multiple units as needed

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required
• Ability to pass a Telemetry Competency Exam as well as ECG/Tele and medication tests prior to assignment, with one attempt only
• Documentation of professional developmental activities required
• Must not reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Six-month separation required for any previous employment (travel, permanent, per diem) at any affiliated facility
• Proof of COVID vaccine series plus booster and seasonal flu vaccine required (medical exemptions allowed)
