Voca Healthcare is seeking a travel Pharmacist for a travel job in Montgomery, Alabama.
● Unit Information:
o Minimum Years of Experience required? 3+ years of inpatient practice experience
o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes, if experienced
● Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o Operations Pharmacist role – Will be the main pharmacist for the hospital.
o Will not have to respond to emergencies or ER
o Remote coverage of orders at Baptist Prattville overnight as well
● Required License, National Certification, Certs
o Must have AL License at time of interview or be in the process and have it in hand prior to starting
o BLS required, but can do on site if needed
o Pharm-D and Board Certification preferred
● Skills required:
o Must be a strong pharmacist, comfortable working independently, triaging, team player; will work closely with pharm techs
o Baseline pharmacology knowledge, able to do clinical calculations, order verification, product checking, new medications, answer phone calls, lots of questions from medical residents to answer, Vanc dosing, ECMO, anticoagulation
o Will dispense critical care drips that are ordered (can teach NICU if needed)
o NICU experience preferred
o Cerner, Omnicell, and Sentri 7 experience highly preferred
● Support within the Department:
o Multiple other pharmacists during the day
o 2 ops pharmacists until 0300, then 1 for a few hours
o Medical Providers
o Pharm Techs
● Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: Cerner
o Omnicell
o Sentri 7 – Pharmacy surveillance software
o IVX – Visual checking system for sterile compounding
● Floating: If yes, where?
o None
● Orientation (facility and unit) :
o 2 Days of NEO orientation
o 2 weeks in the pharmacy
● Scheduling:
o Weekend rotation: every other as a part of the 7 on/7 off schedule
o On call? No
o Holiday Expectations: If it’s on the 7 on, they’ll work it
o RTO: Swap with partner and approved by Manager
o Shift times:
▪ Nights: 2130-0800
▪ Eves/Hybrid: 10:00 - 9:00 pm
▪ Will work Monday – Sunday, 7 on/7 off
o Schedule cycle: see above
