Statement of General Purpose
The Visitation Coach's primary responsibility is monitoring visits between parents and children and/or between siblings. The Visitation Coach is responsible for ensuring that the children are safe at all times, guiding parents in positive parent-child interaction, promoting healthy growth and development of children, and supporting the emotional well-being of families. The Visitation Coach assists in strengthening positive parent-child relationships by helping parents reflect on and improve their parenting skills. The Visitation Coach works closely with the Case Manager and will provide court reports as requested, including their recommendations for progression towards unsupervised visits.
Examples of Essential Functions and Responsibilities
· Ensures the physical and emotional safety of children during their visitation with their parents.
· Identifies safety threats and absent or diminished protective capacities; addresses these concerns with family before, during, and after family visits.
· Assesses parent and child functioning and developmental capabilities; uses this information as a guide when coaching families before, during, and after family visits.
· Provides hands-on coaching during family visits, ensuring positive engagement and communication between parents and their children.
· Develops visit plans with families that are specific, individualized, and geared to the family's educational and comprehension level.
· Maintains documentation of sessions (including intervention skills used) and contacts with family members and resource parents.
· Communicates regularly with parents, foster parents, and the CUA Case Manager regarding visitation and the family's progress or needs.
· Promotes supportive relationships between the resource parent and biological parent/reunification resource.
· Participates in case reviews with other team members as requested.
· Immediately report to the supervisor any concerns about the safety of children or youth in the household or placement facility.
· Maintains compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and bulletins issued by the Department of Public Welfare's (DPW) Office of Children, Youth, and Families.
· Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field, but not limited to sociology, psychology, counseling, criminal justice, education, divinity, or public health administration and
· One (1) year or more of experience working in social services, education, health care, or related. Prior experience in child welfare is a plus. Will consider new graduates with the appropriate educational background and
· Driver’s license with clean driving record.
ADA Component
· This role requires regular hearing, talking, walking, and sitting; occasional standing, driving, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Requires regular travel.
