Job Title: Welder
Job Description

Join a fast-paced production environment where you will engage in Pulse (MIG) welding on mild steel. This role involves using weld fixtures and symbols to complete units efficiently, averaging 2,000-2,500 welds per day. As a welder, you will ensure consistent cosmetic welding quality while adhering to safety protocols, including wearing a weld helmet, gloves, weld jacket, steel toe boots, and ear plugs. You will load metal onto the fixture, weld specific parts, and pass units along to the next welder in the production line. Productivity is assessed by the weld cell, not individually.

Responsibilities

• Perform Pulse (MIG) welding on mild steel using weld fixtures and symbols.
• Complete an average of 2,000-2,500 welds per day in a production-based setting.
• Ensure consistent quality in cosmetic welding.
• Load metal onto fixtures and weld specific parts of the unit.
• Collaborate with team members to pass units along for further completion.

• Proficiency in MIG, TIG, or Pulse welding.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
• Competency in reading weld symbols.
• Capability to work in hot, physical environments.
• Strong memorization skills.

• Experience in production welding and fabrication.
• Familiarity with blueprint interpretation.

Work Environment

Work in a manufacturing facility that is not air-conditioned and can become quite hot. The role requires bending, twisting, and lifting throughout the day. Ensure reliable attendance, as more than four occurrences of absenteeism or tardiness within six months can affect employment status. The working hours are from 7:30 pm to 6 am, Monday to Thursday.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Owatonna, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
